Meet Hannah Gantt
Interpreter. Advocate. Mentor. Believer.

Hannah Gantt is a nationally certified American Sign Language interpreter with over 20 years of experience across a wide range of settings. She currently serves as the East Program Manager at Vancro, while also working as a freelance interpreter and in the Video Relay Service (VRS) field. Hannah’s professional journey is shaped not only by her deep roots in the Deaf community, but also by her faith, family, and love for lifelong learning.
Originally from the Green Mountains of Vermont, Hannah began her career at the Vermont Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Brattleboro, where her passion for the Deaf community blossomed into a lifelong calling. Now based just outside Savannah, Georgia, she continues to serve the Deaf community locally and nationally with dedication and grace.
Hannah’s love for sign language began in childhood, sparked by her Godmother and mother, and cultivated in the Deaf Ministry at her hometown church. A pivotal influence during this time was Dr. Ann Potter, whose mentorship and encouragement profoundly shaped Hannah’s early development. Dr. Potter recognized Hannah’s potential early on and helped guide her toward the path of interpreting—not only as a profession, but as a means of advocacy, cultural connection, and service. Her support laid the foundation for the interpreter and community advocate Hannah would become.
As an interpreter, Hannah is known for her calm presence, sharp ethical insight, and genuine compassion. She is passionate about Deliberate Practice, a method of skill development she actively uses to mentor and support fellow interpreters. She loves engaging in “Terp Talk” and believes strongly in the power of community, shared experiences, and collective growth.
A firm believer in the Demand-Control Schema, Hannah understands the quick-thinking, real-time decisions interpreters must make every day. She sees value in growing our Experiential, Linguistic, and World Knowledge (ELK) through reflection, storytelling, and shared insight—because no interpreter should walk this path alone.
Beyond the booth, Hannah is a proud mother of three—two daughters and a son—and the middle of five siblings. She’s been married to her high school sweetheart, a chef and pastor, and together they model a life of service, hospitality, and faith.
Through every season, Hannah remains anchored in her mission: to serve the Deaf community with excellence, advocacy, and Christ-like love.
